I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. I'm new here and don't know my way around these forums too well yet.

My home campaign has recently transitioned to online (thanks COVID-19), and we are porting our characters onto sheets here, but one of the magic items my DM created I'm having a very difficult time replicating. It's a long sword that is +1 to attacks and does 2d4+2 for damage rolls. It also has charges that can be spent to create different magical effects. I've gotten most of it put together, but can't figure out how to change the base damage from 1d8 to 2d4 and am also having trouble getting the +2 damage modifier applied.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

It is currently not possible to change the base damage of a weapon.

That weapon is even better than a +1 longsword (roughly as good as +2). Average 7 damage vs a longsword's 4.5.

It's intended to be. My character has worked his butt off to accomplish getting it! haha
