I'd argue that the 2020 redux of the Blood Hunter is in a better place than the PHB ranger and not really any worse off than the monk. People like to kvetch and complain that the subclasses are all donkey, but c'mon, guys. C'mon. How is that different from any other class?
I hadn't even realized that the EGtW NPC block was basically a tacit acknowledgment of the 2020 Blunter from Wizards. I'm so used to thinking of the Blood Hunter as a perfectly valid thing that it stopped occurring to me that other people still think of it as shitty homebrew just because it wasn't built by Jeremy Crawford. Man. That sucks. On the one hand it'd be awesome to see the Blood Hunter in an Official Licensed Product (though I'm not sure it can be, since it exists and people have paid for it on Dungeon Master's Guild), but on the other hand I think Mercer's lucky that his class isn't tied irrevocably to a hardprint book he can't take back. Just think of how much Wizards would clearly and obviously like to redo the ranger, but they can't because they're blood sworn to twelve different gods of money to never ever EVER invalidate anybody's 5e PHB.
Either way, I don't see how the Blood Hunter can't merit its own discussion forum. The artificer got one, after all. And hey - right now the Blood Hunter is sorta-semi a DDB exclusive, so why not proudly flaunt it?
I'm surprised it didn't already have it's own forum. I mean yeah, it's not official, but DDB seems to be sponsoring Crit Role pretty hard anyways and incorporates a chunk of their homebrew, so it seems a little silly for that to be a reason why not to.
It's not just ddb pushing the critical role- WotC has put out at least 2 books (guide to wildemont & eberon/last war) that are almost pure critical role content. I think the corporate overlords recognize the interest and profit potential so we can expect to see more general acceptance there. I mean, even if Crawford didn't write it, why should he balk at the profits?

Eberron isn't Critical Role content, it's a completely different setting.

Eberron existed loooooong before the cast of critical roll.
Hello!
Would it be possible to make a class forum for the Blood Hunter class?
Thanks,
Ty
Doubtful, it's still an unofficial homebrew class in need of more work. Should've been the first Constitution based caster.
I mean it did have a 2020 update, and I’m pretty sure blood hunter isn’t a caster class...
It is?
I understood it to be established critical role content, whose PC version just hasn't made it to a WotC book yet. NPC version is in EGtW.

... how is Eberron "Critical Role content"? It has nothing to do with them, and Critical Role has never played one single game in Eberron...

I stand corrected. Must have been that firearms proficiency for artificiers that threw me off.
