Oath of Heroism is now the Oath of Glory from the Mythic Odysseys of Theros sourcebook. In other words, the Oath of Heroism Paladin is no longer UA content but has been officially released. Which also means you will need the Mythic Odysseys of Theros sourcebook to access the subclass.
One of my players has an Oath of Heroism Paladin in the Dragon of Icespire Peak campaign I DM. In play I have really liked the flavor and style of the subclass. Truly feels "Herculean" in play and has been a fun addition to the party. I would recommend them.
Oath of glory keeps the athletics CD from Oath of Heroism, but loses the combat bonus CD. Instead, when they roll a 20 or kill a mob, they get a pool of temp hp they can distribute among allies (and self.)
I had 1 oath of Heroism paly in 1 of my campaigns. When I gave him the option to switch out for oath of glory he accepted with no reservations. We've only had 1 play session since, but he seems quite content with the change.
Just wanted some opinions as to what the oath was like?
Also it didn't look OP (like mystic) and didn't look under powered so why was it removed?
Was looking forward to using it :(
Oath of Heroism was part of Unearthed Arcana, basically alpha/beta test material, and all UA content will eventually be archived (i.e. removed) after a while unfortunately. While it would be great if Beyond can keep old UA content accessible to all, unfortunately they are not allowed to do so from Wizards of the Coast. The compromise they have came up with is that any archived UA content you have active on your character sheet will remain there, but you cannot access archived UA content if your character sheet did not already have access to it, and if you remove any archived UA content, you cannot re-access that content.
The semi-workaround is to basically create a level 20 of any UA subclass you want right now so you can use it in the future, and if you want to create a new character in the future using that subclass, you just have to create a copy of that character sheet and leave the master copy untouched. And if the subclass has several "subclass" options that are UA specific, you will also want to create multiple copies of that UA subclass each with a different option selected. For example, the Noble Genie subclass has several further "subclass" options in the form of which djinn you want to have as your patron, and if you want to use that UA subclass in the future, you will want to create 4 level 20 Noble Genie subclasses, each with a different djinn option selected.
If you still want to use it, I have created a few unassigned copies Oath of Heroism in my campaign, and you can join my campaign here to claim a copy and then unjoin my campaign. I recommend saving that copy as your master copy and then copying the master to create a new character sheet and adjust your race, level, etc. as necessary on the new copy.
I have an armorer as one of my PCs, if when it is archived will I still be able to level him up With the archived features?
Anything you already have on a character will remain unchanged once it becomes archived. If you are using the character you have nothing to worry about. One of the players in the campaign I DM is still using the Psionic Wizard that was archived at least a month ago.

I highly recommend having a master copy of UA subclasses at level 20 to keep things simple. You can always create a copy of a level 20 character and make adjustments to your options later, but you cannot create a copy of a level 1 and re-expand certain options later. While Oath of Heroism does not have any options at higher levels that becomes inaccessible, some archived subclasses like the Revived Rogue have options (Connect with the Dead at level 9 has a few a options) that becomes inaccessible if you switch out of it.
So if you have a master copy of a level 20 Revived Rogue with a level 9 option selected, and you copy the master to create a new copy and reset the character to level 3, when you move back up to level 9, you will not be able to select anything at level 9. The only workaround in this scenario right now is to create a new level 9 copy of the character or homebrew the option as a feat instead.
For another example, if you copy the master and reset the level to 1, when you move back up to level 3, you would not even be able to select the Revived subclass as an option.
For Armorer, I believe their level 9 options should still remain functional since the selectable options are not UA specific. On the other hand, the Revived Rogue's level 9 options are UA specific, and since I did not realize the function would be inaccessible later at the time, I did not select anything there so I can no longer access those options. Back to the Armorer, I still highly recommend creating a master copy of an Armorer at level 20 and have the Armorer select all the UA Infusion options.

So when you copy your master version, and level it down, make sure to not level it down below the level at which you select the subclass. Like this:
Make master character at level 20.
Make new character you want to play (assuming Paladin) as a 1st level character. Once you hit 3rd level, go make a “copy” of the master backup and level it down to 3rd level so you can keep the subclass, then change race/scores/background/name/backstory etc. to match the character you are playing and then switch to that new character.
Iit doesn't matter what level the char is: once the subclass is added to the character, it can be levelled up without any issues, there is no need to create a level 20 version.
When something is archived it just means you can no longer add it to characters, but if already added then works exactly like a non-archived version: you can level and progress as normal and all features remain present.
Or just make a homebrew copy of the subclass. Personally I find that easier than copying/editing chars (although, to be fair, I homebrew a lot and I'm a tad whackadoodle).

That's foresighted of you, and a good idea. I may take you up on that one day if it's alright.
I see a lot of reports of people who have discontinued UAs being unable to select options at higher levels. I don't know if there are options to Oath of Heroism, but I like the method of having a copy at level 20, that sounds like it would definitely fix that issue, as long as you have enough character slots.

Oath of Heroism should be fine since there are no UA specific options to select at higher levels. I believe Armorers should be fine too since their level 9 selection is basically just a scaled down version of the main class's Infusion ability. For stuff like the Revived Rogue's level 9 option, Genie Warlock's and Noble Genie Warlock's level 1 option, etc., those options will not be re-selectable once you un-select it.
I do not want to keep track of which subclass has options that would be affected by the archiving process, so I just make them all level 20s first and then create additional master copies if those UA subclasses has additional UA specific "subclass" options when I comb through them later.
