Im new to DND and i love this system DND beyond offers for me and my friends to make characters and play over zoom. Ive reached level 3 now and the free service is blocking me from choosing the class types I want. For barbarian for example it wont let me select Totem. It says go to the marketplace and I do but then nothing explains how to unlock that option.
Is it one of the subscriptions that offer that? If so which one? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The subscriptions do not give you access to content, they let you have more characters, and some let you share content you already have purchased with others.
If you wanted the Totem Barbarian character option, you need to look into the Player's Handbook, but you can also purchase individual options. The subclass Path of the Totem Warrior, for example.
Really? Like a one time fee? I didn't even see it anywhere in the marketplace.
but that is much better than paying a subscription hopefully its like. 99cents lol
Each subclass is $2 I think. And purchasing it will lower the price of the whole book by the amount you spend in case you decide to get the whole thing afterwords.
When you go to the marketplace it will show the book and purchase button for the book. If you click on the book name it should bring up a page where you can buy parts of the book instead.
I wonder if im gonna play this potentially the rest of my life if I should just pay for the whole book.
Can more than one PC log in to my account at the same time? Like my friend make 2 characters and I make 2 but both be logged in under my user account and run a dungeon? Or would he need his own book?

Two people cannot share an account, that is not allowed. But, if anyone in the campaign has a Master Tier subscription and enables Content Sharing, then every book that anyone in that campaign owns will be shared with everyone else in the campaign.
If you just purchase that one subclass, it will reduce the total cost of the book by the purchase amount since you will already have purchased that portion of it.
