I have a Sorcerer I run in a weekly campaign. And one of the players brought some really cool feats to my attention. The DM approved the use of them on my PC.
Spell Versatility: 1st level feature. Whenever you finish a long rest, you can replace one spell you learned from this feature with another spell from the Sorcerer spell list. The new spell must be the same level as the spell you replace
Some new Font of Magic options: 2nd level sorcerer feature (enhances Font of Magic)
Empowering Reserves: When you make an ability check on your turn, you can spend 2 sorcery points to gain an advantage on the check
Imbuing Touch: As am action, you can touch one nonmagical weapon and spend 2 sorcery points to imbue it with magic for 1 minute. For the duration, the weapon is considered magical for the purpose of overcoming immunity and resistance to nonmagical attacks.
Sorcerous Fortitude: As an action, you can spend any number of sorcery points to roll a d4 for each point expended. You gain a number of temporary hit points equal to the total rolled.
Some new Metamagic options: 3rd level Sorcerer feature (enhances Metamagic)
When you choose Metamagic options, you have access to the following additional options
Elemental Spell: When you cast a spell that deals a type of damage from the following list, you can spend 1 sorcery point to change the that damage type to one of the other listed types: acid, cold, fire, lightning, thunder
Seeking Spell: When you cast a spell that requires you to make a spell attack roll or that forces a target to make a dexterity saving throw, you can spend 1 sorcery point to ignore the effects of half- and three-quarters cover against targets of the spell.
Unerring Spell: If you make an attack roll for a spell and miss, you can spend 2 sorcery points to reroll the attack roll. You mist use the result of the second roll.
I want to add these to my lists. Or at least a few of them that I can. But theres nothing to let me add feats in my manage feats section. Is there a way I can do it somehow?
When you hit manage feats, it will only list feats you have access to. Those feats would require homebrew, so you would have to create them first. Unfortunately, we can not currently access base class features such as Metamagic or Font of Magic, so you will have to make them differently and they will not appear in those sections.
These aren't feats, these are the Sorcerer Class Feature Variants Unearthed Arcana Wizards put out in November. DND Beyond is working to make them work in the character sheet, but it's been delayed while they get the underlying infrastructure to where it needs to be to handle swapping out options of base class features. In the meantime, many parts of this UA can be recreated in the homebrew system as feats, but they're not actually feats per se.
If you want to try recreating these as homebrew feats, I'd take a look in the homebrew forum or the UA forum to see if others have managed to work out if it's possible to do so. I don't play sorcerers so I'm not sure if things like alternate metamagic options can be homebrewed. They might just be largely freetext feats, possibly with charges/checkboxes, to get them onto the sheet as the wording above. Font of Magic would just be creating the actions where it says 'manage custom' on the actions pane, and Spell Versatility you just remember you can do it.
Yeah, I wouldn’t try to make them as feats. When I made the CVF conversion for a Ranger, I made them as part of a customized version of their subclass. If I were going to do it for the Sorcerer, I would do it the same way. It would be even easier for a Sorcerer since they pick their subclass at 1st level.
I managed to make parts of a Ranger work -- I wasn't using all the variants, the one that worked least best was Fade Away, I ended up changing the name of the class feature to 'don't use this' which is, uh, less than ideal. Is it possible to homebrew metamagic options? I was thinking it might be like warlock invocations, which you can't homebrew.
When made as (sub)class features the Ranger CFVs worked pretty well.
Like I said in my 1st post, Metamagics are not doable like the originals, but you could work around them. It would be clunky, but you could add them as options if you did it right.
IamSposta, would it be possible for you to share the Ranger subclass homebrew? I was in the middle of making it for myself and decided to search to see if anyone else had done it

What I can do is invite you to a campaign and gift you a character with the subclass. I will warn you that it has access to the Druid and Wizard spell lists too since it was customer for a specific campaign, so you will have to police that yourself.
Oh, amazing! Full disclosure, this is actually my first character I'm making on DND Beyond so I'm not fully sure how it works. Will I be able to use the subclass in a different campaign?

Sorry, I missed this before. Yes, once you remove it from my campaign you would be able to use it in another one. But it won’t work unless you start at 3rd level.

Starting at 3rd level is perfect -- I really appreciate this!

Took me a minute to find it, but here is that Ranger I made. One could make the Sorcerer just as well.
