Someone has to invite you to a campaign. They will send you a link and you can use one of your existing characters, or make a character under that campaign using any shared resources they, or someone else, has access to.
Check out this video for an intro to character roles. Its a good place to start. Plus there is a taking Dragon. If you know what kind of class you want to try check out the Class Forums, they are pretty helpful for specific questions. @JamesjHaeck also does a Class 101 series on DND BEYOND that are good to read.
Check out my Disabled & Dragons Youtube Channel for 5e Monster and Player Tactics. Helping the Disabled Community and Players and DM’s (both new and experienced) get into D&D. Plus there is a talking Dragon named Quill.
I’m assuming you’re totally new to D&D? If you can, try getting some friends together and learning it alongside them. Maybe buy the Starter Set or Essentials Kit and play it with them. That’s easily the best way to learn D&D (and to find a good group).
I’m kinda new to this, I don’t know much
What would you like to know about?
How to do something. E.g. join a campaign

how do i find other players like me that need a group but don't have anyone to play with?
Try your local game shop.
Or post that you're looking for a group on the forums or respond to one of the many posts about people looking for more players.
