recently i added my own variant class features because I was not satisfied with the Tasha ranger features nor the Phb ones. i was wondering if there is a way I can add that to and beyond because I prefer to use my character sheets on this site.
There is no way to add or edit optional class features via homebrew. The best workaround I can think of is to implement the effect you want with the Feat system, but you will still have to remember to not use the class feature you are replacing since you cannot actually get rid of it. If you just want to add effects without replacing anything, then you do not have to worry about reminding yourself to not use the original class features.

Actually, I believe they can be added by subclass using the homebrew editor (I.e. make a copy of a subclass and add features). But this is very time consuming and clunky if you want to add them to all subclasses of a given class.
No, we cannot add optional class features. The most we can do are optional subclass features. Nothing we do can replace any of the original class features for a class.

If that's true, what about the new optional class features for rangers in tashas? Like, Deft Explorer replaces original Natural Explorer and/or Favored Foe replaces Favored Enemy? Are they built in?
If that answer is yes, then if I order the "Fey Wanderer" ranger subclass, can I use it with the newly published ranger base class rules or do I have to order the whole book?

You have to buy all of Tasha’s to get the option class and race features.
