I have a Homebrew Race I have published that I am making a new version of.
Clicking "Create New Version" makes new versions where the Replacement Trait I worked rather hard on is missing and any Granted trait with "Levels where options known" always has the levels wiped.
Am I messing something up here...? This feels like a somewhat big sorta issue, so I figure it's more likely me messing up something, else surely it'd have somewhat addressed if it were a common issue for most peoples, even if only just some popup warning about it or something such...
EDIT: Using it as a Template for a New Race via Create Homebrew Race also causes all same information losses.
So howsabout those of us that see the primary value of the publish button as being a way to generate a link we can forcibly shove into Discord, perchance even for sending to the playtesters so they've anything to playtest?
There's not exactly a "pseudopublish" option where you can make a link others can use to see what you got without actually publishing, and I already know unpublished stuff can only be seen by the creator and the website admins, though I've gone out of my way to test before anysuch that such links to unpublished stuff don't just work for everyone.
I'd gladly trade my ability to publish at all for a "let people besides you see this if you link it" button.
Anyone who has a character in a DDB campaign with you can see your homebrews. If you are in the same DDB campaign simply send them the link to your Private Homebrew and they will be able to see that page. Also, any PC in a DDB campaign with you can automatically access your homebrews for use on their character sheets, no subscription required.
Seeing as how this website isn’t designed to cater to discord I really don’t think they give a fig about that.
I hadn't meant to say I expect the Beyond team to care about Discord in specific, moreso that you seemed to be making a false assumption or two about what I consider the value in publishing stuff whatsoever.
To be clear! I do NOT mean that as any sort of comment about ye, just that "Shove Link in Face" is my priority, and it's understandable that wouldn't be obvious.
What I essentially want is "I can easily show what I make here on Beyond to others."
That is the base premise I'm essentially working from, and any other goal is just less important to me.
"Link that I can shove into someone's face" is my top number one priority above everything else, all other considerations are second to that to me.

You seem to be making false assumptions about the intent of my post. My top priority was to inform you that issues such as what you described are inevitable whenever attempting to update certain homebrews post publication.
You have been informed and your priority remains unchanged. Then go ahead and publish. (Makes no difference to me.) Just be prepared to face issues like what you described whenever you attempt to update them. (Just don’t complain about it since you have been informed.)
Well, now informed that the issue wasn't caused by me screwing something up like I had thought, I can indeed now work better knowing that such issues are inevitabilities, rather than something to spend hours trying to divine the source cause of.
So, ultimately, you did in fact help! Thank ye kindly!

This is one of the reasons it is considering best practice to not publish homebrews until all playtesting and editing has been completed.
