Two big problems, which I've been attempting to solve with DNDBeyond support for 3 weeks now! No success.
Anyone? Can anyone at all help?
1. See this homebrew background. I added a homebrew spell to it, called Summon Stars. The spell does not show, and in place of it, it shows "tool tip not found"... whatever that means.
A “tooltip” is when you make something an “internal link,” like this: fireball. Only official content can be tooltipped, not homebrew like your spell. It is possible to create a false tooltip for your spell, please see the General Homebrew FAQ #9 for additional information: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq). I will warn you that such a false tooltip will prevent publication of your homebrew. It will also not attach that spell to your background in any mechanical way whatsoever, that is not currently possible. You would need to attach the spell to a homebrewed feat and add the feat directly to the character sheet under Features &’Traits->Feats->Manage Feats
People can only see your homebrews after you publish them, but DON’T PUBLISH THEM. Once a homebrew is published you can no longer edit it to fix mistakes like the ones you are dealing with.
The Tabaxi race must be purchased from Mordenkainen’s Monsters of the Multiverse to unlock it, follow that link and scroll down to see your individual purchasing options. To unlock the Artificer class, you millet purchase one of the subclasses from Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. Again, scroll down to view your individual purchasing options.
So you're saying there is no mechanical way to actually include a homebrew spell to a homebrew subclass so that it shows up on the character sheet under spells, despite the fact that the subclass creator allows you to add spells to the subclass, including homebrew? Makes sense! LOL. What a mess.
Then no, you cannot attach a spell to it. That form labeled “additional spell list” will only add the spells entered there to the list of spells that the character can learn if they choose to, and only if they are a Spellcaster from their class. To actually add the spell to the character as an additional known spell, you have to add it to feat like I said before.

Thanks for your reply.
There is a way to attach a spell to a subclass. But you didn’t say it was a subclass, you said it was a background. Which is it?

Oh shoot. Sorry, yes, it's a Background.
