I'm trying to add spells to a homebrew blood hunter sub class but they aren't appearing. I have selected the appropriate spell casting ability, can cast spells is set to yes, additional spell list is set to wizard, spell prepare type is set to half level but when I go onto the character sheet, the spells tab isn't visible at all. Can anyone help me/ tell me what I'm doing wrong.
You also need to add a feature called Spellcasting (or else Pact Magic if you want Warlock-style casting.) The "Spell Prepare Type" and "Knows All Spells" fields should be set to -- (blank) as they do nothing on third-caster subclasses.
Please note that since the only official spellcasting subclass for Blood Hunter (Order of the Profane Soul) uses Pact Magic, the spell slot and known-spells progression may not work as one would expect based on looking at Arcane Trickster and Eldritch Knight.

Cheers for the help, it shows pact magic spell slots and known- spells progression as you said but I can work with that.
Spellcasting doesn’t work on blood hunters, only Pact Magic does. (Spellcasting would just give you Pact Magic instead.) athe inverse is true for all other classes.
