Okay, so I have this PC who's a fighter/bard and I'm trying to decide which instrument of the bards to give out in a future session, but none of the defaults are; A. an instruement the character plays (violin) and B. seem to fit well with their specific skillset.
So I'm thinking of turning to homebrewing one. Any advice?
Without anything more to go on than “fighter/bard” and “violin,” the best I can suggest is to look at the existing instruments of the bard and cherry-pick the bits that fit best. As long as you use those as a guide regarding spell levels and charges, etc., you should be alright.

D&D 5e Musical Instruments - 5e Backgrounds For D&D Pick from the many mundane instruments, check them out and search them, you might find what you want from here.
And for the spells?
