When I DM, I usually use homebrew. I try to mark homebrew I make with a (H) so I don't lose track of what's homebrew and what isn't but I can't do that when browsing the collection. But when I play, the campaigns I play in usually don't use a lot of homebrew. So I was just wondering if there's anything with homebrew items/spells/etc that make them stick out so I don't have to double-check when I'm trying to prepare spells, pick items, or more. I figured there would be a small symbol next to it, but I'm not sure how to get around this little issue. Anyone got any ideas or know if there's an option I'm missing?
homebrew doesn't show up in places like https://www.dndbeyond.com/spells or https://www.dndbeyond.com/races. Those are only official ones(+the crit role and extra life things and UA). Homebrew is only in [My Homebrew Creations/Collection]. If you're talking about in the character builder/sheet, you can just toggle the Homebrew Content in the Home page of the character builder
I know that it doesn't appear there and that you can toggle it on and off, but that wouldn't help. As I tried to explain earlier, I DM and play. I was hoping there could be a way for me to discern homebrew stuff without having another window open to double check if it's homebrew or not. If I turned off homebrew, then I wouldn't be able to see (as a player) items that the DM potentially gives out.
So I'm guessing there's no little icon or anything to determine whether or not an item is homebrew or official then.
yep, but you can easily click on an item to see it's full description and in the description official things have their source (e.g. PHB p.234) listed, whereas homebrew items have their version listed

Even if there is no actual version listed, if the version field is theee it’s a dead giveaway that something is Homebrewed.
