I've homebrewed my first race for a private campaign, a Kalashtar Half Elf, and was editing it with my DM's rules in mind. How I was playing it was mostly a Kalashtar flavored with Half-Elf's darkvision, fey ancestry and combining the ability scores of the two races, but when homebrewing this race myself with the Dual Mind race feature, it's given all my checks Advantage, not just Wisdom. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong or how to correct the issue so I can make the race work correctly?

This is exactly how I'm writing a character I'm working on creating. I just planned to take +2 Wisdom and +2 Charisma, and to play as a bladesinger Wizard so the bonuses would be more for social encounter purposes and defense against magic than for giving me offensive advantage.

Did having darkvision, fey ancestry, plus the psionic buffs from the Kalashtar race wind up being too overpowered?
