In the homebrew feats creator, is there a way to make a feat where as a side-effect it causes them to *subtract* a d10 from a skill check roll? I know you can add a bonus dice to a skill check as a modifier, so I figured maybe if you put in -1 into dice count box then maybe it would serve as like, a minus-bonus? But my cunning plan was not so cunning.
I don't want to just give them permanent disadvantage because it feels too harsh, and I want it to be more unpredictable than just subtracting a fixed value? So that it's still a tempting feat to consider :P
How can I give a feat or magic item etc some kind of occaisional penalty?
Temporary/triggered effects are not currently supported on DDB, and the dice roller isn’t sophisticated enough to handle automatically adding bonuses (positive or negative) to a skill check. You would have to create an Action with a d10 roll attached to it, and the player would have to roll it separately and manually subtract the result from the result of the check.
