Got "Exploring Eberron" on DMsGuild, and they have a few racial feats for races of Eberron origin. One of them is for legacy shifters, and gives them +1 ASI, 10 minute shifting instead of 1 minute, and an extra use of shifting. I asked my DM if I could revise it for MotM shifters and make it on DnDBeyond, but they said they'd go at things from a different angle. They said, without taking a feat, I can spend 2 uses of my shifting feature to shift for 10 minutes, and I can expend 4 uses of it once I'm able to shift all day.
They said they were willing to allow this because my character is a Cleric of a moon deity, so I'd have a greater connection to my lycanthropic blood. Plus, they said they wanted me to be able to use my Wildhunt form more often in social and exploration situations. I don't think anyone else in the group is getting upgrades to their race like this, though, and I don't know how balanced this is in the long run, so I'm a little worried about special treatment and game balance. Should I follow through with their plan, or insist on the feat?
Just because the others aren’t getting similar “upgrades” yet doesn’t mean they won’t later, the DM may very well have similar things planned for the others. I suggest talking to your DM and voicing your concerns about not wanting to get boons if the others won’t also and see what they say. You may have nothing to worry about.
