When you are making Homebrew backgrounds how do you get the Proficiency to show up like this below for Artisan's Tools or under the language tab for all the languages like it looks below. There should be ways to pick all the musical instruments as well, without selecting each one separately. So, I guess to simplify it how do you select an entire category, I do not see it in any of the list.
The ability to do that is locked behind Admin access where we homebrewers cannot get to it unless we use a backdoor. Find a background that already has those things and use it as a template for yours. Then just don’t change those things and it’ll work for you just as it works for the original background. For example, the Clan Crafter lets you “Choose an Artisan’s Tool,” Entertainer lets you “Choose an Instrument,” and Sage lets you “Choose a Language.” It may not be possible to find one that includes everything, but the Artisan’s Tools are finite so you can generate that list manually and just enter “Choose an Artisan’s Tool” in the tool proficiency description. However there are a shedload of languages and not all of the musical instruments are listed, only half of them are, so I would focus on looking for a background that gives those as priorities.

Thanks so much, hope they add the ability for us homebrewers to use them in the future without having to use a template.
