So I wanted to make a homebrew race (the Vulp) that had a more magic-oriented variant (the Kisari); an optional choice, rather than a required subrace. Programming the race and all its traits went along fine; however, the variant's traits aren't actually functioning. I marked all of of the variant's traits as replacements for traits the race already had, since, well, that's what they are, and made sure to specify which trait the new ones were replacing. However, on the Variant's details page, it shows that the Variant doesn't have any traits. It also doesn't provide the traits that I added in to the Variant to characters the variant is applied to, nor the traits that the variant's traits replaced. Only the traits from the base race that were left untouched are provided to the character; the rest just vanish entirely.
Did I mess something up making the variant, or is this a problem with the homebrew system?
You wanted to make all of those traits as “granted” (not “replacement”) traits, and then designate which base race traits they supplant. You can’t change what type of trait they are once they’re made, so you will have to recreate each of those traits individually as granted traits.

That fixed it! Thank you for your help :D
