I am creating a homebrew version of Hunger of Hadar that doesn't require concentration as a blessing from a Great Old One. I am using a feat to add it to a sorcerer spell list but I am running into an issue where the homebrew version of the spell isn't actually using the spellcasting ability of the PC? The save DC for the spell is only using the proficiency bonus to calculate the save DC.
Anyone else run into this issue homebrewing a spell? Any suggestions?
It’s probably not the spell, it’s probably because of the feat you’re using to attach the spell to the character. It won’t automatically pull the character’s spellcasting ability the same way a magic item would, you have to designate it where you attach the spell to the feat.

Ok- thanks for the advice. I’ll investigate that along with the tutorials on making feats for tips.
Happy to help.
