Hi! So I'm making an attack for a homebrew Mind Flayer race that uses either strength or intelligence, whichever is higher. I know of the snippet code {{modifier:str, int}} that returns the higher modifier, but as for the actual action I haven't noticed an option that would allow me to do that.
If it's not possible, I'll probably just make two attack actions and label them as INT and STR.
I don't think that's possible with the current tools. You would have to create two attack actions, like you said.
I believe that it's possible for the player to then just select in the Actions tab which of those applies to them, by clicking on the attack they don't need, selecting Customize, and then removing the checkmark from "Display As Attack".
Yeah, that's unfortunately not going to happen. If it were possible, then Soulknife Rogue's Psychic Blades feature would be able to include an attack that works just like a Finesse weapon, but it isn't, so the feature just gives you two different actions for two different stats. I suppose that's the official solution for the problem.

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
