Hi there! I've created an item that follows the Longsword template, and the person I'm making it for is a cleric. She doesn't use strength and I'd like to modify the stat required to be Wisdom instead, is this possible?
The item is a tome with transformation abilities, and the ethereal sword that will be pulled from it will use Wisdom. (Same damage output and everything, just stat change)
For example, this is the item, and when the character ads it to their inventory, it shows up with Longsword stats. If I make it as a wonderous item, it just doesn't allow it to be equiped and show up in the Actions tab
This tome is bound in shimmering leather, adorned with Helm's symbol inlaid with a blue sapphire. Its pages radiate with divine energy and can be used as a spell focus. With the command of the holy, the weilder can speak a command word to transform the tome into an ethereal version of Ever Watchful; Helms bastard sword. Upon closer inspection, a small compartment is revealed within the book's cover, housing a concealed item.
Transformation Feature: Sanctified Tomeblade & Helm's Beacon When the wielder speaks a command word related to protection or divine intervention, the book magically transforms into a holy melee weapon, temporarily suspending its spellcasting abilities until it reverts to its book form. The caster can only have one transformation active at a time.
Stats as a Melee Weapon: Name: Sanctified Tomeblade Damage: 1d8 slashing Properties: Versatile (1d10 slashing) Weight: 3 lbs
Additional Feature: Helm's Beacon Within the hidden compartment of the book, there lies a small branding iron fashioned in the shape of Helm's symbol, heated by divine magic. Effect: Once per long rest as a bonus action, the wielder can magically pull out the branding iron from the book and use it as a simple melee weapon. Damage: 1d4 radiant Special: On a hit, the target must make a Constitution saving throw of 18 or be branded with a symbol of Helm, causing them to glow faintly with divine light for 1 minute. While glowing, the target has disadvantage on attack rolls against the wielder. After the effect wears off, the brand mark of Helm remains permanent and the creature cannot be targeted with Helm's Beacon again.
