So my DM gave my character a “free” spell in addition to the normal warlock spells at that level. I managed to create the spell as a homebrew in Beyond using the rough description he gave me and I can actually see the spell show up as being available in the app. However, I am not able to actually select the spell as all of that character’s warlock spells are accounted for. My understanding is that DM was giving this as an additional spell kind of like the infernal legacy spells teiflings get as it has a “once per long rest” restriction. Is there a way to indicate this in the homebrew setup that I am missing?
edit: when I originally set up the spell I did restrict it to the warlock subclass hoping this would solve the problem, but apparently this did not work.
If your character can only cast it once per long rest then you could create a feat to add that spell to your character and then add the feat directly to your character sheet.
If your character could also spend Pact Magic slots to cast the spell then you would have to create a custom version of your subclass and add it to that as a custom class feature.
The feat is a good idea. I will need to check with our DM to see if he wanted this to burn spell/pact slots or be more like tentacles of the deep. This spell in question is also for the fathomless Warlock.
