I'm creating some homebrew races from [undisclosed television show that I might be a little too obsessed with], and I'm sort of stuck on a very crucial mechanic. This being the race having four arms. I can't really figure out a way to make this trait not broken or not weak. I know I want them to be able to hold more than two items, but I can't figure out how this works in combat. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you in advance.
You could take inspiration from guildmaster guide to Ravnica and the appendage :
Grappling Appendages - You have two special appendages growing alongside your arms. Choose whether they’re both claws or tentacles. As an action, you can use one of them to try to grapple a creature. Each one is also a natural weapon, which you can use to make an unarmed strike. If you hit with it, the target takes bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. Immediately after hitting, you can try to grapple the target as a bonus action. These appendages can’t precisely manipulate anything and can’t wield weapons, magic items, or other specialized equipment.
You add two like this and balance it by giving very little except that.
Another option I can think of is to allow a change in weapon properties, for example, two-handed, and all the other are light except versatile weapon, given that you could easily take those with two hands without any real trouble if you have 4 arms. This last option also let the race use numerous feat on a whole new variety of weapon. the race could also potentially make use the strongest die on versatile weapon and still hold a shield. I don't know if I'm clear, but I hope you get the idea.

look at the hadozee - they're a player option with 4 arms. they can hold more than 2 weapons, just can't attack with more than 2.

The hadozee only have two arms, I believe you probably meant to write thri-kreen instead.
