I’m thinking of making a subclass fit for a more modern campaign, sort of like an elite super solder (Snake, Sam Fisher, etc), however, I’m not quite sure which main class I should put it in.
Super soldiers are generally either Fighters or Paladins, with the occasional Rogue. It really depends what sort of style you want them to have. If they are an inspiring leader of men that's more Paladin, if they are a sneak-y sabotaging commando that's more Rogue, otherwise I'd just go for Fighter.

Oh, and this is for the 2014 rules
I’ll try to clarify as best as I can, thanks!
If it were me running a modern campaign I would use the 4 nonspellcasting classes, and the three half casters.
