I have been searching for a good tutorial that tells me how to properly create a subclass and use all of the creation tools properly. I have seen the tutorials for, feats, races, backgrounds, etc but I have yet to see one about subclasses, and so far the subclasses that I have created are nothing like the subclasses that have been posted. I would like to know how to create something subclasses of that quality. If somebody would be able to help me or point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated.
I don't have a guide for you but I do have some suggestions on where to start. Read through James 's guide for creating races, monsters, spells, feats, magic items, and backgrounds on DDB. They don't use the exact same tools but they're similar enough to be helpful. Also, don't hesitate to reach out or ask questions, we'll be more than happy to help!

I am not sure if asking the question here is where I'm suppose to, but none the less. Is there a way to create a limited number of uses per long rest on a class feature?

Limited uses is under the "Actions" section of a subclass feature. Add an action (action/bonus action/reaction/special/other) and you can assign to it a number of uses, and whether it recovers on a short or long rest.
So far, my best bet for trying to figure out how to make something work is to look at other features that similar subclasses have and just try to copy that. So for that, I would probably look at the druid wild shape? If it is based on an ability score, I would look at tempest cleric if you have access to that.

I'm about halfway through creating one currently - hoping to be finished sometime next week.

This would be greatly appreciated. Any word on when it might be done?
