Hi there!

I’ve made a custom race. I’ve added a  racial trait where they know Vicious Mockery. 

Where the entry of Options, Modifiers, Spells etc. comes up I went into Spells, added Vicious Mockery (I do own the spell on DnDB) for Spell and saved the change. 

As far as I can tell this doesn’t work. When I make a test character to see if it all works the spell does not appear in their spell list.

Am I missing something? A box I need to tick or a value that need inputting somewhere?

Any help would be gratefully received.

Did you designate a spellcasting ability for the spell? Spells like vicious mockery that force saving throws, or spells that require attack rolls need to have a spellcasting ability designated for them or they don’t populate the character sheet.

I did, yes. I’ve filled out the Edit The Spell For… out as close to the original spell description as possible, and after trying your suggestion as the bare minimum.

Neither seem to work. :S

Point 14 of Subclasses and Races fixed the issue at hand. I think it was “is infinite” being ticked, and not consuming a spell slot (felt counterintuitive but that’s on me).

Happy to help, I’m glad you got it sorted out. Yeah, the “is infinite” checkbox is for stuff like the Ritual Caster feat, so it keeps generating more dropdowns.
