so I’m trying to make a character with a pointlessly high carrying capacity, and that led me to discover what is ether a bug or a flaw in my understanding of the homebrew mechanics.
The base I’m using is a Goliath Bear Totem Barbarian. With 20 strength that gives me a Push, Drag, or Lift of 2,400 lbs. I wanted to add the old UA Brawny feat, but had some complications. First I set it to Carrying Capacity - Large, but that didn’t stack with the Goliath’s Powerful Build feature. Next I set it to Carrying Capacity - Multiplier 2, but that didn’t stack with the 6th level of Bear Totem.
Is there any way of making this work that I’m missing? Please advise.
The homebrewer isn’t really a homebrewer, it’s only meant to make things the way they were intended to work by WotC.
You’ll never get them to stack, the best you can do is make something that gives the same result.
You have one thing which makes you count as Large, and another thing that multiplies your capacity by 2. So, you ether need to make something that lets you count as Huge, or something that multiplies by 4.

The Brawny feat says you count as if 1 size higher, as does Powerful Build. They aren’t intended to stack.
In essence, it isn’t a flaw in your understanding of the homebrewer, it’s a flaw in your understanding of the rules.

I’m not saying it was intended to stack, I’m saying I want to make a version that DOES stack and I can’t figure out how.

Thanks for the insight. If been making homebrew using dndbeyond for more than a year and I’m still finding little quirks and strange interactions.
Me too, and I’ve had a second home in the ‘brewer for a couple of years.
