I homebrewed a Shadow Blade magic weapon for my Arcane Trickster Rogue 7 to wield for when I cast the Shadow Blade spell, carefully crafted with modifiers to have the right damage die (d8) and weapon properties. Pleased with the results, I published it (most recent version): https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/1390371-shadow-blade-2nd-level
After a month or so, seeing that a good number of people were adding and using it, I thought I should create & publish a new magic weapon for use when the spell is upcast (damage 2d8 -> 3d8). I created the new magic item using my original Shadow Blade as a template. I figured I should also do a revised version of my original weapon, changing the name from "Shadow Blade" to "Shadow Blade (2nd level)" and editing the description a little; I published that new version no problem.
But when I published my new homebrew item "Shadow Blade (3rd or 4th level)", it ended up replacing my "Shadow Blade (2nd level)" in the published items list!
So to fix it ASAP, I published a new version correcting it back to "Shadow Blade (2nd level)". For the upcast one, I created an item from scratch and had to eyeball to make sure I had the modifiers etc. right, and published it: https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/1390379-shadow-blade-3rd-or-4th-level
The annoying thing is that my published "Shadow Blade (2nd level)" lost both its upvotes and views. And having those extra Previous Versions including the 3rd/4th-level one is kinda an eyesore. Is there some way to "revert" the item to a previous version? It'd also be nice to know if there is a right way to publish a new homebrew item templated on an existing published item of mine, should I decide to publish a further-upcast Shadow Blade...

I found that happened to me as well when I made a spelland wanted to do a flavour changed version. I'd be interested to see if anyone has a solution or if it's just a case of "don't do that"
Well it looks like it's been rejected from publication, probably because the spell is from Xanathar's... lesson learned. (Could've sworn I saw others though.)
Pity since it was helpful. Maybe if there was some way to qualify that a homebrew item could only be used by someone who has access to the spell...? Here's hoping the upcoming Conditions etc. update will mean that D&D Beyond can have the spell itself generate the weapon temporarily, that would be ideal :)

Please take a look at my homebrewed Spells, Magic Items, and Subclasses. Any feedback appreciated.
It’s just a case of don’t do that unless you want this to happen.
