I've got a campaign where- because reasons- I have a player running multiple clones of the same character.
They want them to level up in different directions- have one go bard, another go rogue, etc.
I like this idea and want to support it, but I don't want to just remove the prerequisites for multiclassing. I'd prefer to find a way for some of them to *earn* a way to increase an ability score enough to take a class.
I've already looked through RAW things like supernatural blessings in the DMG, and the Tome of Leadership and Influence (as well as its counterparts). I'm looking for homebrew ideas anyone might have that are different from this. I don't really want all of them to have the same story, ya know?
-Need to increase Strength (from 9 to 13); Intelligence (from 10 to 13); and Charisma (from 12 to 13)
-I'm hesitant to allow things like headband of intellect because if the character loses it, what happens to the levels they took? are they still allowed to have the class they don't technically qualify for? It feels like that opens a whole lot of doors.
I've got a thing on Drivethru rpg hich gives all PHB feats alternate prerequisite/requirements so rather than choosing them at level 4, 8 etc you take them as and when you men those requirements, its a pay what you want so take it for nothing and have a look, it might give you what you need, link below...
I don’t know if it’s RAW, but on the DDB character sheet at least, if they have a magic item such as THIS, it does meet the prerequisites for multiclassing. I think the reason is that it hardsets the stat instead of giving a bonus. You could send your players on quests to find these types of items. Would that meet your criteria?

Shameless Self Promotion but...
