Make a Homebrew Wondrous Item that requires Attunement. Name it “Mage Armor” and set it as an “Artifact” to make it easy to find on the character sheet, and add the following modifier: ”Modifier—>Bonus” “Modifier Subtype—>Unarmored Armor Class” “Fixed Value: 3”
Whenever a character casts the spell, all the player has to do is temporarily attune the Wondrous Item, and then unattune it after the 8 hours has lapsed.
So I'd created a leather armor analog for Mage Armor.
Cool! It sets the armor to base 13 when I cast the spell, and then I "take it off" when the spell isn't active....
However, Bracers of Defense only work with unarmored people. I wouldn't think that Mage Armor counts as actual armor...
So how to I technically create an armor that isn't armor as an item?

Nevermind, figured it out.
I created an object which just adds an unarmored bonus of +3

can you share this item?
