I got a magic item off of a boss in one of my campaigns. It's powerful but I'm not sure how to make it work. I was able to figure out the initiative modifier but it was about to boost my ki by 5 points. Is there any way to add that to the magic item??

Unfortunately no. Modifying base class features like Ki is not possible at the moment. Maybe some day. 

What I did to make something similar was give the item that number of charges and note that they can be spent as Ki. However, if your item is supposed to also have charges for something else too then there is no way to separate the charges from each other. If that’s the case then you might just need to make a separate item named “Item X’s Extra Ki” or something and put those charges on that item.
