I go into character creation and choose the subclass. There’s no tab to select spells, nor on the character sheet. I’ve got the ‘Spellcasting’ class feature.
I’ve selected the spell list. (Druid)
I’ve marked ‘Yes’ on ‘Can cast spells?’
I’ve selected the spell casting ability. (Wisdom)
I’ve set ‘knows all spells’ to ‘No’, and in turn, have left the ‘Spell prepare type’ blank, since it’s spells known instead of preparing spells.
I have pressed SAVE.
NOTHING!
Can anyone think of anything I might be missing or should I give “Bugs and Support” a shot?
If not, try re-saving the whole subclass and just be patient. Re-saving the subclass is what triggers the system to pick up the changes. Sometimes the system pushes content to the character sheet instantly, sometimes it can take up to 20 minutes.
No, it’s “Spellcasting.” And I have saved and I have waited. I’ve finished it hours ago and I’ve been looking through this forum too trying to see what the problem might be.
Post a link to your current test character and your homebrew so a mod can look at it if they need to. They can even see private stuff so no worries. It might be a while before they find this thread. In the meantime I can help you troubleshoot.
Try starting a whole new character and see if it works on that.
You might also try logging out and logging back in.
If not, try setting “knows all spells” to blank and re-saving again.
Alright. As I stated, I have left “Knows all spells” blank, since it’s spells known instead of preparing spells. But I’ll try the other stuff and get back to you.

In your first post you said that you had “knows all spells as ‘no’ and ‘spell prepare type’ was blank”

Just double checking because something as simple as that could be your problem.
Keep trying different combinations of “spell prepare type” = Level and “knows all spells” = yes.
Basically just keep playing with those couple settings until you find the combination that works. I know your trying to model it after AT/EK, but Druid is a prepared caster, so you might need that adjustment to accommodate it.
Yeah, that’s not working unfortunately. I’ve even tried deleting and remaking the whole Spellcasting feature (and yes, I did in fact save). I have no idea what I could possibly be doing wrong. Also, wouldn’t the spell list not matter? I mean AT and EK both use the Wizard spell list, which is also prepared caster.

Wizard is a kind of weird hybrid. They have to learn spells like a known caster, and then prepare them like a prepared caster. I don’t know. Have you tried making a subclass using either of those (AT/EK) as a template just to see what they do, and then just copying it? I honestly don’t remember exactly, I just fiddle with it until I get it and go “oh yeah” and then forget it again before next time and have to fiddle with it all over again.
Instead of “Spellcasting” try “Pact Magic” it does the exact same thing. It shouldn’t, it should work the way it does for the one Blood Hunter subclass, but it doesn’t. It just does the same thing as “Spellcasting.”
ITS WORKING!! I deleted the feature and remade it a few times every so often and it just started working for some reason. God that was annoying. Anyway, thanks for your time in this. Now I just have to figure out why it won’t let me share it with the community...

Huzzah!! What is the reason it’s giving? Also, once you publish it it’s permanent, so if I may offer a piece of friendly advice: Don’t Publish It. I mean, eventually publish it, but not until you have thoroughly playtested and edited it. Trust me, that is the single most useful homebrew tip I have ever given anyone. After a few months of playtesting and editing it will be ready, but I guarantee that you will want to edit something and after you publish that is... unfortunate to say the least. Trust me, just wait until you are 1,000,000% finished with it first.
Well that’s just embarrassingly convenient, it’s actually no longer preventing me from publishing XD. Anyway, I’m aware of the wisdom in waiting to publish. Even throughout this process I already changed the name a few times. Regardless, I appreciate the advice and help.

You have to add a subclass feature with the name “Spellcasting” or it won’t work.

I literally noted that I do have that feature.
Did it autocorrect to “Spell Casting” by chance?

Also, my mistake. I meant to type that I left “spell prepare type” blank in that last post.
Damn, nothing unfortunately. I suppose now I should just try the waiting game and hope a Mod May have some input. Thank you for your time, though.

Well, that last thing didn’t work, although now it’s stuck saying “Pact Magic” in the builder no matter how I try to change it back.
