Are there any rules about using art from old D&D editions for publishing homebrew creations?
Flicking through some old 3E material I realised how MUCH outstanding art has been created over the years, and what an awesome resource a collection of such art would be for 5E homebrew.
Any images attached to homebrew are automatically removed when published to prevent exactly those issues.
Does this mean that other people aren't seeing the images that I attach to my homebrew items, as soon as I share with the community? Also, is this why it seems like no one adds images to their homebrew items?
I know that I still see the images for my own items, but that would make sense. Typically, I find some stock art (often times it will come from a video game) and then I edit it with an image editor to fit my purpose. I've always wondered how that interacted with image DRM, but I guess it is a moot point if it gets removed anyhow.

Thanks, that's reassuring.
Would be an awesome boost if they created a stock art gallery though. :D
