Is there a way to add metamagic abilities to homebrew items so that it is added to their DnDB character sheet as a feature?

I have been looking into this and I don't see a way for it to be done... unless it's already there and I'm just overlooking it.

There is no way to add Metamagic options at all, item or otherwise. We currently have no access to core class features in the homebrewer.
