So, I've started playing Dnd for a short time and I really wanted to try my hand at DMing. I've thought about the concept of a slight homebrewed campaign, the setting is around Medieval England with a few sprinkles of ancient Rome, revolving around finding a cure to a very slow-acting but rapidly spreading disease with a slight hallucinogenic twist. I was hoping that someone could give me some feedback on it. I know that I don't have all the information on it, especially the cure part, but I just wanted to see if what I had was worth putting out. It's slightly gory so I'm really sorry in advance.
Necrotic Vengence (Living Rot): This certain illness can be contracted through bodily fluids and targets mainly humanoid creatures. Infected players must take 1d6 necrotic damage every 24 hours and 1d4 psychic damage every 12 hours after 48 hours of becoming infected upon failing a DC Constitution saving throw of 13. Victims experience slight irritation from the infected sight for the first 36 hours but will eventually notice the skin around the said area to erupt in painful cracks and sores. Once it has been 48 hours, the disease begins to spread to other parts of the body and the skin and muscle begin to peel off with the even most delicate movements. Also during these 48 hours, infected individuals began to suffer from mild auditory hallucinations. After a week, most infected are dead and those that are still alive suffer from severe auditory hallucinations and have massive amounts of damage towards their bodies. Most everyone dies after eight days. Although there is no known cure as of yet, many people have found that cutting off the affected appendage has slowed down the illness by 3-4 days. Of course, this depends on blood loss or if any major arteries have been damaged.
I made it as far as the DC and had to go back and read the first part two more times to get it, and never read the rest. If I got that confused reading it, I’m sure others would too. Maybe a language cleanup and some paragraph breaks to make it easier to absorb the info?
