need help making a homebrew subclass with a pool of dice

I want to make a homebrew subclass that has a pool of dice similar to the battlemaster's. How would I do this?

The simple set solution is to make a fighter sub using the Battlemaster as a template so you ca reverse engineer it.

I will tell you it’s an Action with limited uses and level scaling.
