So, I'm homebrewing a magic item. One of its properties is that the attuned creature may add 1d6 cold damage to weapon attacks. Is there any way to do this in the homebrew magic item creator? I think that the item can only apply damage to its own attacks if it is a weapon, not to other item's attacks but I'm hoping I'm wrong about this ;)
No, it is not currently possible to create a magic item that would do that. Heck, it isn’t currently possible to homebrew anything that would do it automatically, it would still have to be rolled separate and manually by the player for every attack.
Eldritch Claw tatoo can already do that, as well as giving weapon 15 ft reach. But it only works for 1 minute and recharges at dawn. My GM let me attune to multiple of them as one slot to have multiple charges per day, but it's now how it works RaW. I think when they integatte Tasha's tatoos fully they'd add it into homebrew maker.

Eldritch claw only affects Unarmed Strikes, and only adds a fixed value.
I’ll repeat, it is currently impossible to create a Magic Item capable of automatically adding a variable number, such as the OP’s desired 1d6, to all Melee Weapon Attacks like the OP requested.
PS- The Eldritch Claw Tattoo has two different functions, the +1 to attack and damage rolls, and the Eldritch Maul Property. The Eldritch Maul only works for one minute per day. The +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls is permanent.
