Is it possible to create a Replacement Feature or Additional Feature for a Class (example: Favored Foe vs Favored Enemy in Ranger, or Dedicated Weapon for Monk) just as a stand-alone feature?
Let's say I want to create an Alternate Monk, and want to make a Replacement Feature for the Unarmored Defense feature. Do I have to wait until Level 3 when the player selects the homebrewed Monastic Tradition that includes it? And if so, how do you select Unarmored Defense as the feature being replaced?
Currently we don't have the ability to make stand alone variant features without making it part of a homebrew subclass. Apparently it's something that DDB is currently working on that, but like most things here no eta for when that'd be available.
No, we cannot yet Homebrew base classes, nor base class features. You can make them as subclass features or as feats, but the original features will remain on the character sheet.
