Random thought: why didn’t Eragon give himself and Nasuada and Orrin a ring similar to the one he gave Orik when he became king
Eragon already had Brom's ring and the belt. He didn't need anything else for himself.
Well i’m talking about the ring he gave Orik, which protects him. Why didn’t he give one to Nasuada or Orrin
Orrin's annoying. As for Nasuada... I'll have to go reread the books.

Here are a couple of Harry Potter ones, which as partially my own and partially ones I've heard:
In his first year, the school buys Harry the best broomstick in the world. In his second year, they let Ron spend the entire year with a broken and obviously dangerous wand. seems really unfair!
If the locket Horcrux makes whoever carries it turn foul and evil, as do all Voldemorts other Horcruxes, then would Harry being a horcrux be the reason the Dursleys are so unpleasant?
Hagrid can perform magic with a broken wand, non verbally, and can fly (he says he flew to get harry, but there's no bike or broom there). He's also resistant to magic because he's a giant. Dumbledore knew he was innocent and yet let him be expelled so that he could have him on his side, because Hagrid would have been more powerful than Voldemort. It's also why Voldemort got Hagrid expelled. It also means Hagrid is going on for 60!
And a Disney one:
In Beauty and the beast (the animated one), the prince is cursed because he didn't let a woman stay, and the curse ends on his 21st birthday. One of the songs features the line "For ten years we've been rusting", meaning he was only 11 when he was cursed! seems pretty harsh!

Interesting. I've found a few plot inconsistencies in Harry Potter, and a ton more in Rise of Skywalker.

I have a Harry Potter one too. Britten is really big, it probably is hard for the owls to go from one end to the other. Meanwhile, experienced wizards can teleport. Why do they use owls for letters instead of teleporting mailmen?

Teleporting mailmen, or floo powder, or house elves - heck, they could probably have an enchanted mail service where wizarding post dropped in post boxes arrives instantly at the address!

This mornings random musings are brought to you by the phrase "The Egg is on your Face".
I have a firm belief of where this phrase comes from - and yet my idea seems absent entirely from every discussion I can find on the internet. So, let's correct that.
I hypothesize that "The egg is on your face" is an extrapolation of "the yolk's on you", which in turn is a twist of "The joke's on you". I think it was an indirect way of saying "the joke's on you", a slang term which might make people think they literally had egg on their face, whilst the true meaning eluded them.
For those who don't know, to have "the egg on your face" means to be embarrassed, usually publicly, and usually your own fault for not having all the facts before making a claim. So if you tricked someone into embarrassing themselves, it would be fitting to say "the egg is on your face!", meaning "The yolk's on you", meaning "the joke's on you".
This style of abstract wording can be evidenced in the more modern chav-phrase "what's up, my hovis-holder?". Hovis is a brand of bread in the uk, and so a hovis holder is a bread bin, which sounds like "Bredrin", which is how imbiceles say "Brethren" in the UK. The phrase therefore means "what's up, my brethren?".

Well, it's time to restart this thread, I think. Why do people like art? It's just a bunch of colors and textures and stuff mashed into something that looks like, say, a forest. Or, in the case of abstract art, it's just a bunch of colors. Don't get me wrong, I like art, but I don't know why.

It is composed to invoke an emotion.

Okay. If that's true, then pictures of things are as well. Therefore, naturally forming things such as trees are "composed to invoke an emotion.". Now, I know that is not true. However, I find it hard to believe that so many natural things coincidentally formed in such a way that an emotion is evoked.

It’s more the other way around. Trees mean food and shelter so seeing them causes positive emotions
What you have to consider is further back along the chain; what is sight?
As our primary sense, it is sometimes hard to remember that it is only that - what you're seeing is only the sensory information passed to your brain by your eyeballs, in the same way as what you hear is just information passed to your brain by your ears.
So what is art? Art is the music we create for our eyes. Nobody can question the fact that music can make us feel something, whether it be happiness (crazy little thing called love, by queen), excitement (through the fire and flames, dragonforce) or melancholy (the album Otta by Solstafir, well worth a listen!).
Yet for some reason, we struggle with the concept that art - something we've created to evoke feelings when perceived by our eyes - can have the same effect as music - something we've created to evoke feelings with our ears, despite them both being mere sensory organs feeding us information.
As for the "real world" (IE non-constructed art), it can have the same effect, both visually and audibly; the view from a mountain, the beautyo f spring, the desolation of winter. The sounds of the wind in the trees, the clap of thunder, the hammer of rain on a roof, the singing of birds. All of these things evoke an emotional response without having evolutionary triggers, and they are the art and music of nature.
