Don't be afraid of guns. Be afraid of the people using them- unless they're decent civilized human beings, which you'd be surprised to find that they exist. I know there's a lot of scary stuff that happens with guns, but again, like Shaw explained "Are guns sentient chaotic evil objects bent on destroying and killing everything? Didn't think so." They can be intimidating, I know, and LOUD. Like REALLY FREAKING LOUD. But don't judge other people for owning a gun- unless they're crazy. Then call the police, if you still have them. I wouldn't ever judge someone for not owning a gun- one, you gotta take care of them or they go bad. Two, they cost a lot. Three, ammo is even more expensive. Four, read number Two. I'm not going to get political because I do NOT want to offend anyone, but I'd say that it's important to find a happy medium where bad people don't get guns and good people still have them. There's a lot of complications with that, and I know, trust me, but I just wanted to get it out there that I think there are definitely people out there who should and shouldn't have firearms. Look at France, for example; They don't do guns, but guess what a guy in his pick up truck decide to do? Run over a bunch of people on a bridge because why not. There was a plane bombing- okay, there's a lot of bombings in France and the other surrounding No-Gun Policy states. Why is there so many terrorist attacks? Because it's easier to attack something that can't attack you back- everyone here who's ever roleplayed an opportunistic bad guy will tell you that. Bad people find a way to do bad things. They always will- which is why they're called criminals. Because they don't follow the law. Don't. Follow. The Law. So why would making a Gun-Ban policy stop them from getting guns? It's the quickest and easiest route- which is why it appeals to so many (but what happens if someone goes on a massive spree with scissors? Are they gonna ban scissors? What if they used their bare hands? Is everyone gonna have to forfeit their hands for the sake of safety? Just a thought.).Because it has instant effects- but the downside is that, again, criminals don't care. They'll find a way to do something else. Whether that be using a truck as people-lawnmower or going on YouTube to see how to make a makeshift bomb- bad people will find a way to do bad things. So, Bob, hear me out...Would you rather have competent people have something as a counter to protect themselves and what they hold dearly against the terrible extremists and chaos insurgents that will stop at nothing to be destroyed? Or hope that maybe your home won't get raided for the night? I have several family members in North Carolina that can express their gratitude for the second amendment, because it has saved their lives and my own. I would like to testify to you all that tools are not the problem here on Earth. It's the people wielding those tools to burn our world instead of making something new out of it. We do not live in perfect society, but I've seen the light this place has to offer. I've seen it in all of your words and storytelling. I've seen it in the small acts of kindness in my community. Power won't stop evil. Love will. And most people just wanna be loved.
I'm thinking of introducing a commoner (LVL 1 bard) that hasn't seen anything crazy in their life (no dungeons, not krakens, no artifacts) and has only been told of them. There totally freaked out by all the powerful beings at the bar. There is a twist, though I'm not going to say it
Question: What was everyone's second character?
My first character for the old tavern thread (which led to the existence of the current thread) was Malwyn and my second was Do'Taba
Your character sounds fun to play as :D He will definitely be overwhelmed by how strange certain characters are but I think it will be very interesting to read about! Good luck with the RP!

Do’ Taba the Honest Merchant
Malwyn the Barkeeper of The Tales of Adventurers’ Tavern
It's definitely easier to type than TabaxiRogueFighterClericWarlock.
Yup, lol. plus its the screen name I use for everything so its easier for me to keep track of
I feel like if someone said "TTB" IRL, I would probably reply "Yes?" just out of instinct.
XD
One of my irl buddies actually pulled a small prank on me recently. I was working on something and he walks in and causally asks me a question about something but he addressed me as Bullethawk and I didn't even realize that he didn't use my real name and just continued to answer his question. He does this several times all in one conversation and in the end he just burst out laughing and I am there standing very confused as to what he was laughing about and I had to wait for him to explain what was going on. Apparently I respond to Bullethawk as if it was my first name :P

This is still a campaign so the player have to win for the thread to go on but we need to find the way to fight them. Victory Exist we just need to find how
what about banishing them to carceri?
Half literally derailed the finale of one of my encounters by teleporting that poor bone claw to some sort of tropical land or something. It was very anti-climactic but we all had good laugh so it was worth it in the end.

If someone IRL called me SpeedyTabaxi, i would be scared since I’m the only one who knows my name.

With me, it would take a long time for me to realize what somebody means if they called me Orange20.

Can people be charmed in the tavern? If not, can the victim be unaffected but can feel that somebody is trying to bend their will?

Good question. I think it’s not allowed
Would they mentally feel someone unsuccessfully trying to bend their will? (Don't worry, I'm not trying to mind control anybody)
