 Surprisingly enough, it's one of the rarer and more difficult reads in the multiverse: Mordenkainen's Musings on the Multiverse.

 Gwen chuckles to herself, wondering if this is the same book from Phantom's lair

Raphael debates casting commune

 She can tell that, while the same edition, this one is in a bit worse shape.

Elendon is sitting by the lake, relaxing with his eyes seeming to be closed.

Gwen tisks disapprovingly at the aasimar, wondering how many editions are out there.

Raphael sighs, before taking out a fishing rod and fishing, waiting for Elendon to stir

 Ace shoots a bead at her, though its more like him throwing it since he's using a cap gun

 She regards him a bit curiously, tilting just enough to dodge it. "Really, hon?" She says with a laugh.

 "What? Can't blame me for trying." he says, hopping off his perch and sitting beside her

 She chuckles, and seems a little more friendly than usual, actually wrapping a wing over his shoulders. "Yer right. I can't truly blame ya, hon."

 "Something change?" He asks, "Usually you don't act this friendly at first," He laughs

 She chuckles. "Dunno, hon. Maybe I'm feeling a little more friendly today. Maybe I'm starten' to like ya." She says with a wink.

 "Sure ya do pretty bird." He says, nudging her in the ribs

 She grins, and pecks him on the cheek quickly, before turning away and blushing quite a bit.

 "Hey," He laughs, "What was that?" He asks cheekily

 She peeks at him, blushing still. "I...I think ya know exactly what that was, hon." She says shyly, fidgeting.

 "Well Jade, thank you," He smiles, considering teasing her about this

 She nods, fidgeting even more. "I...I meant it..." She says shyly, and very quietly.

 "Hm? I'm sorry, i didn't catch that," he says

 She seems to shrink a little, and starts fidgeting yet more. 

 "You're fidgeting a whole lot there."

 She nods, seeming uncharacteristically shy and nervous.

 Ace sighs, patting her cheek

 She blushes again. "I...I meant it..." She says a little louder this time, but still shyly.

 Ace turns her to face him, "Meant what?" He asks slyly

 She blushes more. "Ya know exactly what, hon." She says quietly before pecking him on the cheek again.

 he smirks, "You're an interesting one," he says

 She smiles shyly. "If ya ain't interested, all ya need to do is say so, hon..." She says, pulling her wing back from around him.

"I never said that," Ace says

 *The ban lifted when Chris came back yesterday.*

They nod solemnly. "My eldest brother died and the voice of reason passed. My second eldest sibling committed Matricide." She states, before going silent for a second

 "I'm... oh i'm so sorry gwen" Nia says, a sad look in her eye

"Its... fine. It happened long ago... Shall I continue?"

 "Yes, go ahead." she nods

 "Long story short, a civil war erupted. The sapphire dragon, my 'auntie' as we called her, unleashed hell as my siblings tore the realm in two. By the end, for killing my mother, conspiring to undermine the rule of the dragons, war crimes, and the death of one of the prince-wyrmlings we were exiled... only two survived to our exile and I now only live of my family. My father died of naturally causes, my mother... was assassinated. My eldest brother died of a hunting accident, second died escaping from his killing of my mother, third died right after exile, fourth died in battle, and fifth died... somehow."

 "And.... you're alll alone now?" She asks, tearing up, "I'm so sorry sweetie"

"I... I ran away with my nanny, but yes. For about a quarter of a century, I have been forced out of my homeland, forced out of my life... You can see why I was on edge in the royal palace." Gwen responds, hugging Nia and forcing the tears back

 Nia hugs her tightly, "Its ok gwen. You don't need to worry about anyone hurting you now."

"I know just... it brings back memories... and responsibilities... so many of each." She mutters, staying still

 "Shhh, its ok. We all have bad memories, and I know they must affect you greatly."

 They slowly nod. "I... I wanted to live up to how she taught me, how she taught me to act with foreign dignitaries. I didn't want to disrespect her legacy... disrespect my peerage."

 "I know. I'm sure you'll do amazing,"

 "Did I? I... Soldaer looked like I insulted him and I was probably coming off as cold to you." She says, letting go." I was looking for a book on manners because I didn't know how to act... how a princess should act."

 "Honestly, i don't know how royalty should act either,"

"Want to learn together? I can teach you how to act according to how I was taught, but that was half a century ago and only applies to my homeplane... I was wondering about your homeworld."

 "I guess we can learn together," she smiles
