"The Green attacked his village for simply existing. If he thought it would've helped the situation, he would've. Chromatic dragons aren't the most reasonable creatures under the best of circumstances, let alone when they're angered or, in this case, in a blood frenzy of sorts."

"Dragons aren't stupid. They don't do things for no reason. If the dragon attacked his village, it had someone sort of purpose."

"I didn't intend to say it was stupid. Soldaer's village had been existing peacefully in the Fírantín Forest for centuries, coexisting with nature. Even their homes they grew out of trees using magic. The only things they killed were wild animals when hunting. and then just enough to eat, and creatures that threatened their homes. After centuries of this relatively peaceful existence, that dragon appears out of nowhere, and started attacking Soldaer's village. From what we've been told, a few of the elders tried reasoning with it, asking it why it was attacking, only to be killed. With that, you now see why they killed it, don't you?"

"Because people don't understand things that are different from them. Did they even know where it came from?"

Egrien sighs. "No, but based on what is known of Greens, it must've come from far deeper in the Fírantín Forest, most likely tens, if not hundreds of miles from the usual hunting paths that Soldaer's kin usually took, as no one had seen even the slightest signs of a dragon in the area. Also, yes, they didn't understand why the dragon came upon them, but as we said, several of the elders tried to ask it why it was attacking when it started attacking the village, but it never responded with anything other than killing them."

"Green dragons are cunning. If it just attacked, then something must have been unusual."

"You are correct, but even at the dragon's lair, once they found it, nothing was amiss. It's possible that some other powerful entity threatened it, or even made it go mad, but we have no way of knowing, or at least Reirlin and myself can't give you any further information regarding those events."

"I understand. No one knows everything that they wish they did."

"Indeed. Please don't jump to any conclusions about Soldaer though. While he does seem to enjoy the thrill of battle, he doesn't actively seek it out. After all, he is a disciple of Eilistraee and Mielikki above all else." Reirlin says. "Ine the years we spent adventuring with him, he never once started a fight, but he always won those that couldn't be avoided."

"I'm sorry, but I don't know who either of those people are."

"Do you have the Drow in your world? And if so, was there a great Drow-elf war, one that started in the Pantheon itself with Lloth and the Seldarine?" Egrien asks.

"Dark elves exist in Borrelia. But I've never heard of the Seldarine."

"The Seldarine is the Elf sub-pantheon, led by Correlon Larethian. Lloth was originally part of the Seldarine, and actually Correlon's Consort in the dawn ages."

*Suffice to say that between Egrien and Reirlin, they piece together they major parts of the basics of Lloth and the War on the Seldarine.*

"Things aren't that way in Borrelia. There were three major elven deities: Arvinal, Rósonon, and Xenestyä. While the majority of elves remained loyal to these gods, a traitorous faction began to experiment with demon summoning, becoming more and more obsessed with the Abyss and the power that it held. Fearful, the rest of their kind drove them underground, where they were corrupted by a demon lord named Lolth, becoming the dark elves."

"Interesting. Well, during the war, most of the Drow joined with Lloth, but a few saw through her lies, and stayed true to the teachings of Correlon Larethian. Those people forsook the name 'Drow', and started calling themselves the 'Twilight Elves', Soldaer's kin. The Drow feel upon the Twilight Elves with a vengeance for 'forsaking' the teachings of Lloth. Eilistraee was Lloth's daughter, but took more after Correlon, her father. She protected the Twilight Elves from the wrath of the Drow, and has been their Matron Goddess ever since."

Egrien continues. "Mielikki is a nature deity. She is one of the most common deities to be worshipped by rangers. One of her primary tenets is to protect civilization from the wilds, and those intent on destroying it."

"Are the wilds really that bad? Kingdoms are full of hatred and corruption. Laws only allow people to be hurt without any consequences."

Mithris stares at the floor. "Are they in the basement?"

"Nope! Shes the closest person to me here"

"Are you carrying Whitesnout? I thought they were a boy. They definitely are an amazing genius, though."

He laughs again "Hes probably in the vents. If you want ne to be touching them..." He holds her hand "I am now"

Mithris smiles. "That's very kind of you, Kalnor. But I don't think I can compare to Whitesnout. He's just too perfect for anyone else to be even close."

He laughs a lot at this "He is a great little grumpy boy. But I think you come pretty close"

"I'm glad about that. But I'm being honest, Kalnor. You're just as good as I am."

"Thank you... But I know how much more wondrous you are"

"I'm really not. If I'm so great, wouldn't I tell the truth?"

"Yes... But you just may not know how amazing you are. Or just think of me too highly..."

"Kalnor, I think we're always going to disagree on this. But you're an amazing person, too."

Luckily, it isn't true, at least not for the most part, on my world. In fact, the Twilight Elves of the Fírantín Forest are allies with a strong and just coalition of four kingdoms known as the Winged Alliance. Between these five groups, they protect much of the continent of Hyperia from the goblinoids, orcs, and evil giantkin."

Luckily, it isn't true, at least not for the most part, on my world. In fact, the Twilight Elves of the Fírantín Forest are allies with a strong and just coalition of four kingdoms known as the Winged Alliance. Between these five groups, they protect much of the continent of Hyperia from the goblinoids, orcs, and evil giantkin."

Mithris gives a sad smile. "My people have thought of the orcs and giants as enemies for a very long time. I think I might be the only one of us to ever see them differently."

Egrien returns that smile. "It is unfortunately true that, for the most part at least, those races are usually evil. There are occasionally exceptions, but those are very rare." Both he and Reirlin sigh and take drinks from their mugs.
