*What's keeping him asleep? Because it isn't damage, and I would consider an ambiguous "coma" that's happening for... a reason, to probably be cured by Heal (or at least affected by Heal).*
*Maybe, just maybe, being beaten to death isn't healthy?*
*Also, heal only fixes disease and physical wounds.*
*Maybe, just maybe, he didn't die, and magic healed him to pristine condition within a minute or two of him falling unconscious? :P*
*Fair point. Although that raises the question: is a coma a physical wound?*
*I'd say its a mental wound*
*Yeah, but i think maybe i can do stuff i want with my character if it works for lore? And as a lesson for some of the more murdery people.*
*An understandable conclusion.*
*Fair. Somewhat frustrating, but fair. Definitely won't be teaching a lesson, but...still fair.*
*For atleast one of them its a lesson, the other two are unreedeemable it seems*
*Nonredeemable is a biiiit stretch (though not a big one). Kothar has a very different moral viewpoint than most. And in this case, the kid did a bad thing (and, notably, showed no remorse- if he was being manipulated, that's one thing. Seemingly, he had no qualms with what he did. At that point, for Kothar... it's lesson time). Not saying that he was in the right, by any means. But he had his reasons. Also, Avery's a jerk as of now.*
*Similar thought process for Soldaer, although it was additionally influenced by his emotions, especially sheer anger and frustration at Avery not having seemingly learned anything from the whole nearly-dying to Egrien incident.*
*That was a lesson not to steal, and he's learned from that. He hasn't stolen from anyone since, except for a single time, and they were dead before hand. Soldaer has let his emotions get the better of him, and because of this, an innocent life may be lost.*
*You also forget that time he stole the metal orb and Phantom ended up needing to use a Wish to undo the mental damage he did. But that's beside the point too. Yes, Soldaer did, and fully in line with who he is. He's a CN, and does cross the line from time to time, and based on the fact that's he's all but broken right now, I'm pretty sure he's not irredeemable, wouldn't you agree?*
*Yep, i think thats something i forgot.*
*And yes, you're the only cperson who's characters are feeling some form of remorse for this*
*Yep, and again in full accord with who he is. He's pretty much the balance between Jarlaxle and Drizzt from the books if you ever read them. He has principles, but sometimes they get thrown aside in the face of emotions or something he wants, although he almost always comes back to his senses and realizes what he did is wrong.*

Avery slowly opens his eyes, just a little bit
Phantom sighs in relief, and starts searching out telepathically for Avery's patron.
He can feel the extreme grief from the otherside of the tavern, but as soon as avery starts waking up the feeling rushes towards them
You're welcome. Phantom says telepathically. And don't hold it against Soldaer for too long; he was the one who called me to heal Avery. He is genuinely remorseful.

Phantom nods, although obviously a bit saddened. Very well. I don't know the third one very well, but Atemos is...chaotic to say the least. He usually means well, as he is dear friends of Mithris, E, Kalnor, and that group, but....Phantom shrugs. He is still a demon lord, and so not infallible, and most certainly going to make mistakes.

Phantom sighs. No, mistake wasn't the right word, and I don't exactly know what is. Part of what spurred Atemos on was Avery's affiliation with Xorius, who few of us actually like. That much I know. Otherwise...He shrugs. Call it what you will. He's not innocent, but he's possibly not quite as guilty as you may think. Again, I can't read his mind or know his thought processes, although his hatred for Xorius is understandable and probably clouded his judgement some. As for other reasons...Avery did kidnap a young noble girl at the command of an Archdevil. No, he didn't mistreat her, but that doesn't excuse the crime. Now, everyone jumped to extremes here. Avery, slightly; Soldaer, definitely, Atemos, absolutely; third person, don't really know them, so this may be normal for that person. Just, wait. Just let me and Soldaer talk to Atemos before you judge him too harshly though. I will be your impartial ally here, ok?

Avery is a good child. I should have taught him more about the world, and what was and wasn't right. I never expected him to venture onto land this early in life. I trust you phantom. That is not something i give lightly, and it is only due to your actions of help this day. So i will give time. Perhaps a court will be able to decide this better.
*It's a 9th level, and should cure just about anything, I think.*
*Give me a second to clarify, but i think that actually fixes it*
*It doesn't do that, but screw it. I don't think stuff in dnd is designed for irl stuff, soooooo*
He is genuinely remorseful.
...I can consider forgiving him for this. He did not deal the killing blow, and seemed the most remorseful
Phantom bows his head, a slight smile on his face. Thank you. If I may be so bold, may I know your name?
Despite not physically being there, they seem to nod, "My name is Violet. Atleast thats the name i go by with avery"
Phantom smiles. It's a pleasure to meet you, Violet. Thank you for not being so hard on Soldaer. He's a dear friend of mine, and is rather...passionate, and doesn't always follow logic. Phantom chuckles a bit. He means well usually, just like I did the first time you and I...met? He doesn't quite seem sure of the right word there. Trust me, he's usually much more reasonable than he was earlier...He sighs.
He was likely spurred on by the demon and the moron. They will see their justice.
A mistake? A mistake is knocking over a shelf. THis, was the brutilization of a child for reasons i have not yet come to know.

Phantom bows his head again, a hopeful smile on his face. Thank you, Violet. Your trust is not misplaced. You've seen how I care for Albwin, haven't you? I almost regard Avery here in a similar way, albeit a little bit misguided, no offense meant to you Violet. He's more like a prodigal, one who I hope to help, and do care for. I think Soldaer thought of him the same way, which is part of why he lashed out so much. Phantom takes a deep breath, and sighs again, getting up to move away and let Avery rest. I'll be talking to you later, Violet, and hopefully with some news on Atemos' motives.

That is the reason i trust you. You understand how i feel, if your child was harmed.

*But who will be judge? With E agreeing to this, Mithris, Kalnor, and most of the other veteran PC's are going side with her, it's going to be difficult to say the least to set up a trial.*
