"it becomes more useful in larger communities. it allows for someone to get meat from someone, even if they themselves dont have something the hunter/farmer wants. they can exchange their goods and skills for coin, and use it to get goods and skills from someone who does not desire whatever they have to offer. it really depends on the context though"
