"May I please have one" Basil sits down in a soft chair

 He walks over, grabbing two cups, slicing the lemon to pieces with a claw like an expert, pouring the whiskey and lemon into the glasses, before using them as a shaker.

 "So, you think the egg will hatch soon?"

 "Within the next few days. I'm sure of it." He says, putting the glass down in front of them "Cactus whiskey, shaken."

 As he speaks, the egg glows softly, an alluring deep purple.

 *Goodness.* 

 He rushes to the egg, pulling out his book and flipping through it, putting the egg in his lap as he looks for what to do.

 If the egg begins to glow, use this chart depending on the color of the light:
Green -  this is the final stage of growth. wrap the egg in warm blankets and stay close to it, your egg will hatch in 4-8 hours
Blue - wash over the egg with a broth made of chicken or beef
Purple - the egg is lonely, simply be in its presence. it has also been found that addressing it directly helps.

 "Yep." he confirms, drawing her poster out from a bag.

"Birth is bound to destroy somebody's body, but the pain I felt creating her doesn't even begin to compare to the love and the joy I've gotten from both of you. Sure you still lie, but you're not a cheating bastard, and if you were, you would have died a long time ago..." she reassures him, at least tries.
