Any pronouns, if you mix them up a lot; otherwise, She/They
Hallo, I am a pan, demigirl, chaotic ADHD mess of a furry. I am Canadian, and yeah. I have been on DDB for a while, and the forums for one or two years. Call me Tara, or Anto. Or tarasque2897!
soon, as the boat turned submarine dives deeper, the dark below them begins to glow with a faint cyan light, like the sun is shining down upon them, upside down. It gets brighter, and brighter, and brighter, and…
suddenly, the boat is flipped over, so fast nobody even falls as they surface. The bubble disappears, and they find themselves in that beautiful city they saw in the reflections. They are on a raised canal, fifty feet above the surrounding marble streets. The canal rushes with pristine, clear water which gently pushes the boat along. The city, it seems, is built on the water, and it’s actually rather small, though still grand. As it gets farther from the water behind them, the city gets higher and higher up. The canal brings them slowly towards the center of the city, an open plaza, at the center of which is a fountain, glistening in the dusk’s light. The fountain is three layers tall, and it sprays a clear, perfectly clean water. The plaza is full of foliage, as well as strange technology, like eighteenth century elevators and similar inventions that lead higher up to the city. At the center of the plaza is an enormous, symmetrical building, with golden and white arches, streams of water flowing around it like miniature moats, and a grand hallway with glass doors. It’s a magnificent structure, somewhere between the Sydney Opera House and Buckingham Palace. The man gets out of the boat and helps everyone else out, while other servants rush to escort them to the Palace, greeting them and welcoming them to the home of the Rippling court, and to the Fontaine Theatre and Opera House.
KK is speechless, looking around at the remarkable architecture and quickly making drawings. She gets so absorbed in her sketching that she almost forgets about the ball- something she is reminded by when the accompanying mannequin taps her on the shoulder and gestures to most of the crowd going into the theatre. The two then somewhat hurriedly go to catch up with the group.
The crowd is ushered into the theatre and gently guided along to a circular atrium, the walls lined with paintings, sculptures, and lavish blue curtains. At the other end of the room is a grand set of staircases, with blue carpets and white fabrics hanging from the railings. A grand chandelier is at the center of the room, and there are a few tables to sit at, as well as a dozen masked servants walking around, offering guests cider and strange, delicious smelling foods. Guests are being ushered in constantly, and the room isn’t even a quarter full. At this point, there are at least fifty guests. There is also a… strange lack of security.
KK stands a bit closer to her mannequin bodyguard upon seeing the strange lack of security, the two walking over to one of the tables and sitting down. She seems a bit nervous, but is trying to act as if she was otherwise.
A finely dressed servant waltzes over to KK, holding a clipboard and a scroll in hand. Smiling, they say, “Good Evening, we are grateful for your attendance. You are from the mortal realm, yes?” She says, looking at KK and the mannequin with a cheery demeanor.

Brynn beelines for the nearest table, stopping momentarily to grab a cider, and sits down. Paia is only somewhat disappointed by her friend abandoning her and stands against the wall, eyes fixed on what would inevitably become the dance floor and waits.
She sees a couple of extravagantly dressed humans waltzing by, as well as an orderly, authoritative woman with olive skin and a slight limp, wearing some cross between a dress and a military outfit, with multiple badges. She’s flanked by two servants, who seem to be making sure everything is in order. A small band arrives, as well. Someone, an older woman with grey hair is about to sit down at a table, the same one Brynn is heading to right now. She doesn’t notice them.
Brinn doesn't notice her either, sitting down and sighing

He grins, a relatively rare occurrence. "Eh, I'm used to a low level of constant turmoil. Just how it goes. You guys had it worse."
“We may have had it worse, but you’ve done so much more for us. I just wish I could repay ya fer everythin’ but there likely ain’t anythin’ I can do.” She grins back at them lovingly.
KK looks up from her drawings, smiling despite her mask not showing it. "Good evening. Yes, I am- well, a mortal realm, but still."
“Wonderful! We’re glad you could come. Now, In about ten minutes Our grand Archduchess will be giving an opening speech, and then there will be a performance in the grand theatre, as well as appetizers and refreshments served here, then after the performance, we’ll open the ballroom. I assure you, this will be a wonderful night!”

“I can certainly try if ya want.” She says, looking down to them, grinning wide, her teeth sharp.

She looks to Brynn. “You aren’t from the rippling court, are you?”

"That sounds wonderful indeed. I look forward to all this night has in store. Thank you." She looks around at the grand theatre, taking notes of some of the decor.

She grumbles, clearing out her throat before beginning to sing, the voice of an angel stunning all of the chefs to silence, and most of them stopping working all together.

They take the candy in their mouth, eating it while Thane slowly rocks them, smiling down “Thank you.”
“I… love you… more than… life…” He says, closing his eyes too.
“Practice my magic… and wear dresses… I don’t know.” He meekly says, looking down.
"It's the least I could do- you have a kid, after all- and even though they are cute and great, they are a hassle to have"
Lify falls asleep, hugging him *good place to end?*
"I will help you practice!"

Once they are in the plains, they hold their staff to their chest “Whenever you’re ready, I-I’ll try.”
