KK somewhat nervously chuckles as well. "Yeah, being surprised isn't something one can outgrow. If I may ask, startled by what? Was it something I said? If so, I am terribly sorry."
”I…” she begins. “I was just a… bit shocked when you said you died by the hands of a ghost! That’s not a story you see every day… eighteen something years ago, I played a lead role in an opera about a woman being hunted down by the ghost of her ex lover. I’m a bit of an actor…” (deception: 10)
*Apologies for the delay*
"Really? How fascinating ." KK replies, not buying her lie at all. "I'd love to hear more about that, but first I'd like to know the real reason why you were shocked. Don't worry, whatever it is, it ain't going to hurt my feelings."
She pauses for a moment, taking in a deep breath. “I-I’m sorry… I was a small bit shocked when I… when I saw your face.” She mutters. She waits right when the servant cleaning up the glass is out of earshot to say it.
"Didn't quite look like the picture you had in mind? Well, I kinda have been wearing a featureless mask this whole time, so I get why it's surprising." She chuckles a little bit, doffing the mask once more and letting it hang loosely by its string around her neck.
“Again… I am so terribly sorry about that… but now that I can see your face, you have… quite pretty eyes. Like that of a cephalopod’s! We have an abundance of sea creatures here, ha-ha.” she says, a small bit awkwardly.
She chuckles a bit, nervously smiling, blushing a faint blue around her cheeks. "I- er- Thank you, your grace." She replies somewhat awkwardly, struggling a bit to form her words.
She stays silent for a few moments. Without changing her expression, she mutters, “I-… just-… forget about that, sorry…” she looks to the servant, as if trying to gauge if they heard any of that. “Lets move on.”
She seems a little surprised, as if she was deep in thought for a second, before relaxing again. "Oh- er- o- of course. Now, you're an actor? What's the play you most enjoyed acting in?"

"My, that sounds like an interesting story indeed! I'll have to look into the play to see for myself- I'm a huge fan of theatre myself." *It's a comedy YouTube series with light horror elements set in the World of Darkness setting (Vampire: The Masquerade and such). It's made by the same guys who made the "If The Emperor Had a Text-To-Speech Device," and the characters are clear affectionate parodies of the cast of said previous series. Except one.*
*Big D is the titular "Parent," and he is completely insane on the surface (and still pretty insane when you reach a little deeper). The reason for this is that he lives in a setting that is effectively Scary Clown World and he, as a Hunter, is basically thrust into it alongside his family of his own kids and grandchild. He's paranoid and, well, complex in his reasoning as we learn when we get a rare glimpse into his thought process, but he obfuscates his humanity by being this larger-than-life pansexual drug-addled lunatic who can probably throw cars, or, more impressively, every husband and wife he's had over the years at the same time.*
*It's insanely well-written for what it is, and you can tell everyone was putting in 100%. And it's still going.*
*Anyway, I'm making Big D and Captain America's god-forsaken lovechild. Rootin', tootin' madman representing the American Dream despite it being basically BS spouted by people who pretend to care about politics. This man at least pretends to genuinely believe in the 'justice and liberty for all' stuff and is more than willing to betray the interests of his Totally-Not-America country for it.*
