*I had an idea for a thread to post on my birthday.*
*A village from Gilded Age Greyland (old dark fantasy setting of mine) abandoned after the aristocratic rulers of that village, simply known as "the Family" were discovered to have been experimenting with dark forces.*
*The fallout of the removal of the aristocrats resulted in something simply called "The Event." Due to The Event, the village was abandoned immediately. Many mementos, valuables, and pets were left behind.*
*Thanks to The Event, the dark and absurd are drawn to this place. Investigators, occultists, outcasts, monsters, angels, demons, ghosts, just people and things that don't belong. Even some of the myriad experiments made by the Family have come up from the Catacombs to explore. Some say the ghosts of the massive Family still live under the burned-out mansion. It is nearly always cloudy, but the plants still grow big and healthy and green in the spring and summer. It rains often, providing the strange wildlife with plenty of strange water to feed their strange appetites. Quite strange, wouldn't you say?*
