*Pastoral steampunk tavern set during the fantasy equivalent of the American civil war*

*Based on Hot Springs (once again, one of the few places I actually know anything about), the resort town would be only a dozen or so miles from the battlefront, so purple heart earners from both sides would be sent here. It's a place of relative peace, despite the population dropping dramatically since people were drafted and there being both veterans from warring sides and gangsters roaming about the mostly deserted streets.*

*The springs run with healing water, which is magically potent enough to fuel machines and give them spellcasting (although the machines do have to be specialized for it if they aren't full on sentient constructs). Service work is king here, even during the war, so tailors, perfumers, chefs, musicians, animators, artists, and whoever else can make their fortunes here.*
