'That doesn't sound so fun. Much better when the rats stick to where they're meant to be, not meddle with the affairs of them up there. Less conflict for everyone. I personally tend to avoid the surface for that reason'

"I would have to agree with that assessment. Animals have a place and people have a place. Sometimes they are side-by-side, but most of the time they are not."
"I was imprisoned in the Domains of Dread as one of the Dark Powers, and I needed someone to take my place. As a result, the other Dark Powers and I continuously grabbed the vilest possible creatures from their homeworlds and built custom-made hells for them. If they showed remorse, or, even better, repentance, we let them go back, since they wouldn't be able to take our places. One needs to be truly vile to become a Dark Power."
"The captured creatures, called Darklords, are in total control of the hells we made for them. This one had an affinity for rats, given that she was a wererat herself. Her torment wasn't the rats themselves, but the fact that she was never in full control of her people."

"They weren't the literal Hells. They were several times worse. In the Hells, the environment doesn't have a vested interest in your physical, mental, and spiritual torture. For those planes, it is more incidental. In the Demiplane of Dread, the entirety of reality bends and warps to make your life into an unspeakable nightmare, tailored to you specifically."
The forest seems to bend and twist as a warping energy runs through the ground and through every little thing. In the center of it all is a woman, sitting on the warped ground. She has long black hair that spills down her shoulders and around her like rivers. Her skin is almost as white as new snow with barely a hint of color. She has a single eyes vertically in the middle of her face accented by a small nose and mouth. She wears a long black dress with what appears to be made of thick black fog and silver bands around her neck.
She silently reaches out to the sky, her fingers dancing as if trying to beckon something to come closer.

The Abyss crawls toward her slowly from the edge of the warped ground, on all fours like an animal.

'Ya got a point there. Mostly, I count myself as one of the vermin, though'

"If you wish to be an animal, I doubt I could stop you. I will say that rats and humans should be somewhat distinct, however."
