*Cut for Arch. 20, and he’s a barbarian, so only slightly better.*
“It recesses, it only grows when I used it, some of it stays a bit more every time. Please don’t touch my hands, I quite like you.”
Her eyes shine as she wraps an arm around them “Ya got a lot o’ sweets, but it’s gettin’ late.”
*coolio! She likely won’t be involved in combat for a while yet, but this kind old skeletal woman is in fact a frontline fighter and healer*
“If you do it too much, then you could be petrified permanently. If I do it, I’ll just come back…”
”I have all the sweets! Are you sayin’ people shouldn’t be havin’ sweets this late.”

“I have made sure not to do it so much so far, I will continue to do so. Please, keep your concern free of me, you shouldn’t have to.”
“I’m sayin’ I shouldn’t be havin’ sweets this late, I be makin’ lots o’ mistakes when things are late.” She says, cackling.
“Fine… if you wish…” she sighs, helping the man up, healing any wounds he had left herself.
“oh, come on! Live a little!” He holds out his hand, presenting to her a handful of expensive chocolates.
He helps them, making sure not to touch their flesh much more, before looking around, sighing softly, his breath visible, before beginning to walk.
She shrugs “I ain’t gonna make ya beg.” She says, taking the chocolates and tearing into them, her hunger seemingly endless.
Mother Misery guides them to a rundown church that she and her priests have converted into a makeshift hospital. “Weeping pox is nasty… are you susceptible to disease? I should cleanse you, just in case. And don’t tell me I shouldn’t, I can’t get sick.”
he chuckles, eating a few chocolates of his own. He snaps, and a few moments later, it begins to snow outside.
It gives a little chuckle. "Ah, the god of Holiday Hospitality, among other things. Few others could make a Dredge Mocha the exact way I like it. It is very nice to meet you, Vanilla. I've read of your... dare I say exploits? Adventure sounds a bit extreme for the stories I've read. But they were enjoyable and heartwarming nonetheless."
“Aww, you’re real kind. You know, when I became a god, like a decade back, I did not think I’d be a god of Candy, but… Y’know I can’t complain… I’m still a god.”
"I can't complain either. Candy is a favorite toy of mine. I'm sure you know how relatively easy it is to make something beautiful out of sugar glass. Sometimes I wish I could be a god, but I know that I'd never be able to handle the responsibility. You have an entire concept to manage. Even the more hands-off deities have important work to do, and I know I would abuse my power. We have before, and it hurt us as much as anyone. So we decided that I should be kind." It takes another sip.
"You know, a long time ago, we each decided something for ourself: we will never use our powers for our own benefits. The Magus can't heal itself. I can't run for mayor. The Beast can't kill. But we do our work regardless. We are hardly pure, but it's better than what we could be doing."
“Why’d… why’d you decide that? To keep yourself from turnin’ pure evil?”
*I keep coming up with spur-of-the-moment ideas for series, but what I need to do is write some one-shots first. And of course, follow the KISS principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid). *Honestly most of my ideas, as you know are spur of the moment, naturally. Maybe you could connect the one shots you’ve written, because I know you are an intelligent writer. I’ve never heard of the KISS principle, but I certainly agree, a strongly kept audience enjoys complexity, otherwise it isn’t wise.*

Mother misery shrieks. “MY DEAR AREYOUOKAYLETMEHELPYOUIWILLGRINDTHEMINTOABLOODYPULPFORYOU-“ she says, immediately casting a cure wounds on him, regardless of whether he wants her to or not (6 healing) before grabbing an umbrella, tipped with steel, from a nearby table in the church, and running out to find the attacker. he looks up at them. “Oh, heh, that was nothing. I just like being all warm and cozy inside when there’s a big snowstorm!”
They see someone around the same age, and from the same era as Darius in the distance. He seems strange, an arrow in hand, and strangely wearing a blindfold. Darius laugh, taking his spear off his back “Don’t worry, he’s an old friend of mine. He’s blind, but the best shot I’ve ever had.”
“Yer right, but I don’t mind the cold too much, maybe I’m just a lil different, but I like the warm an’ the cold.”

Mother Misery is seething behind her mask, but lowers her umbrella of death, standing up straight and brushing off her dress.
“Well, that’s nice! I Don’t like when it’s hot… unless it’s inside and there’s a fire. If you could make it any weather you wanted right now, what’d it be?”
"I can't complain either. Candy is a favorite toy of mine. I'm sure you know how relatively easy it is to make something beautiful out of sugar glass. "In a way. We've done many terrible, terrible things in the past. Plagues. Famines. Wars. We were one back then. Angry and childish. We thought that revenge on mortalkind was the best option. But then we realized that we never wanted eradication. We wanted kinship. But one ur-fiend couldn't do it all. Differing approaches were necessary. Humanity must succumb to evil. See how ugly it is. Only when you realize your pain can you heal from it. Only when you see a problem can you fix it. I show people what they do when they can avoid liability. The Magus shows them what they do when they have the option to do anything at all. The Beast shows them what they do when they are desperate. If only we could inspire hope for the future as easily as we inspire sin." It sighs.
"It's a crying shame. So that's why we limit ourselves. We need people to make their own choices, and improve. It may sound evil, and maybe it is, but that isn't a factor to us. The kids feel the cruelty of man, but they never saw them at their worst."

There seems to be a note on the arrow as he tears it out of his shoulder and the archer disappears. Darius reads it, and sighs “Oh course.” He crashes the note “Jokester.”
She runs her chin in thought, her claws tapping slightly “I don’t know, the Winter is so beautiful, but so is the Spring an’ Fall. Summer is amazin’, it all is so beautiful an’ perfect.”

”that’s… strangely, actually pretty good of you, I think. I mean… the methods are a bit… well, terrifying, but your intentions seem pretty good. But… who am I to judge? I’ve… mostly spent the last ten years drinking hot cocoa next to a fireplace…” he sighs.
*Cut, you aren’t an idiot, we can pretend it was Rag the whole time.*
He chuckles and picks her up, kissing his passionately “Now where do ya want ta sleep, cause yer goin’ ta bed.”
He nods, loading his rifle with a single shot, breathing in the air, closing his eyes for a moment, his ears twitching as he mutters to himself, “One shot, two kills.”
Merabelle seems to think for a moment, “Well, things started out with me livin’ inside of a giant lizard as an orphan, taken care of by the legendary sharp shooter Deadeye of the Gnarly desert. I became one of the people on his crew, we did water heists fer a while, eventually the gang split up after a friend o’ mine’s sisters killed Deadeye and cursed most o’ us. I traveled fer a while, became an underground mma fighter, had a lot of short romances, ya know how it is. Eventually I heard that friend was in trouble, so I came here.” She smiles wide at them.
